Peace

"May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."

Psalm 122:7

What a special blessing. And what a gigantic grace - if God should grant us peace within the walls of our soles, our relationships, our careers.

Internal peace is often the end product of internal struggle, but never of external war. Very often I am rewarded with peace after hours of digestive thought and struggle over a matter of concern. But I have never seen that peace can be achieved when people are destroying others around them to secure their own position.

In any relationship peace is nourished by respect and joy, considering one another.

Peace is not knowing exactly where the road ahead is leading, but rather the One who is walking ahead.

Not knowing how the pieces of your life's puzzle will fit, but rather the One who is holding the pieces in His hand.

Peace doesn't come once we have control over the direction in which our lives are going, but when we have given control to God, with the knowledge that our lives are safe in His guidance.

As our lives progress we move through eras of peace and eras of turmoil. We don't always have control over the circumstances we are placed in, but we do have control over the attitude towards these circumstances.

We will only know peace once we have met its creator. Jesus gives us the invitation - to all of us who are tired and weary.

Just accept is.
